Neil Matlins

Senior Investment Officer

Neil Matlins brings to Global Trust more than 40 years of experience as a hedge fund manager and investment adviser managing equity and fixed income portfolios. 

In 1983 he founded a hedge fund, The Lincoln Fund, L.P., based in Springfield, Illinois. Investment strategy continues to focus on the creation of a diversified, liquid portfolio of multi-cap companies. Additionally, Neil believes that risk control is the key to successful long-term investing. In late 2006, seeing excessive leverage in the financial system, Neil completed a well-timed sale of equities for the Lincoln Fund. He closed this fund in 2007 and continued to manage a smaller fund, The Lincoln Tax Advantaged Fund L.P.   

From 2012- 2025, based in Hollywood, Florida, Neil served individual clients, families and corporations as a registered investment advisor and President of Matlins Financial Consulting Inc. 

Client portfolios reflect trends in investment cycles and the impact of changes in technology, productivity, regulation and demography on asset prices.  Additionally, in his stock selection process, Neil looks to assess the integrity and transparency of corporate leadership by monitoring quarterly earnings calls and the commentary of research analysts.
